Five years since Ralph B and Ambrose R left Farleigh (2021), their continued friendship underscores what The Good Schools Guide once remarked, that “friendships forged at Farleigh hold their shape”. 

Since leaving Farleigh, both Ralph and Ambrose have gone on to enjoy successful and fulfilling school careers. Ralph became Captain of Rugby at Canford, while Ambrose developed his game at Ampleforth, each embracing opportunities on and off the field. Despite following different paths, the friendship they built at Farleigh has remained as strong as ever.

This year, their sporting journeys came together when they faced one another at the prestigious Rosslyn Park National Schools Sevens, one of the highlights of the school rugby calendar and a poignant milestone for both young men: it was the last ever game of schoolboy rugby that either would play, and fittingly, it was against each other. What began years earlier on the pitches and playgrounds of Farleigh ended on one of the biggest stages in schools rugby, with two friends lining up as opponents for one final time.
