Sisters launch slow fashion brand Madder & More

Founded by sisters Lottie, Lila and Lydia, Madder & More began after a trip to India sparked their love for colour, pattern and traditional block printing. During the 2020 lockdown, days spent in Jaipur cotton shorts inspired them to create pyjama shorts so comfortable you’d never want to take them off. Today the brand has grown into a full range of cotton nightwear and accessories, all designed by the girls.

Their products are all handmade in Jaipur in India by artisans of woodblock printing. They carve each design into blocks of wood and gradually print each layer to create the intricate designs. They work closely with a family-run team in Jaipur to bring to life their ideas and creations.  They embrace an eco-friendly approach to the "Slow Fashion" movement. This encourages slower production, unifies sustainability with ethics, and ultimately invites consumers to invest in well-made and lasting clothes.

To reduce our environmental impact they use fabric offcuts to create accessories, as well as having regular Zero Waste Sales to ensure no misprinted fabric goes to waste. They also use recyclable products for all their packaging which have been made from recycled resources.

Lottie and Lila returned to Jaipur recently, sketching new designs and laughing through their own clumsy attempts at block printing. Madder & More is built on slow fashion principles: 100% cotton, small-batch production, and timeless designs made to last. Between university lectures and full-time jobs, the sisters have been growing the brand each year, and you can join the pyjama party here!
